
Francine Ingabire from Ruharambuga sector in Nyamasheke district revealed that she is pursuing a course in mason and bricklaying to fulfill her dream.
Unlike other girls of her age, Ingabire says she decided to enroll in the vocational school for bricklaying course because she loves it and it pays well nowadays.
When we found her at Ntendezi vocational college (VTC Ntendezi) in Ruharambuga sector, Ingabire confirmed that everything is going on well with her in the first week of mason and bricklaying lessons.
“By the end of six months, i will have learnt a lot of things as far as bricklaying is concerned, which will lead me to social development after school,” she adds.
Samson Muragijimana, Director of the Vocational school pointed out that all students of this school get enough training that earns them praises when they go out for internships.
Muragijimana gives an example of how their students take a big part in building classrooms in 12 year basic education schools.
Ntendezi vocational college (VTC Ntendezi) is one year old and has a lot of challenges like a classroom where bricklaying students can study from.
Ever since the school started on may 2nd 2011, VTC Ntendezi has trained 37 students in mason and bricklaying of which nine are females.
